You will find that you can run SiteKiosk on almost any Windows PC. We do recommend, however, that you purchase quality when picking your system's components as no-name products will add to your cost in the long terms as they will require more support and maintenance. For instance, machines with no-name memory chips and poor cooling will cause your entire systems to be become unstable.

As a general rule, we encourage you to always install the latest Service Packs and Windows updates!

When installing SiteKiosk make sure that a Windows user with the name "SiteKiosk" does not already exist (this does not apply to the update installation). Furthermore the computer name must not be "SiteKiosk".

1.1 Minimum requirements

• Intel or AMD x86 CPU with > 1 GHz, 2,048MB of RAM
• Internet Explorer 11
• Screen resolution 1,024x768 or higher with a color depth of 16 bits or higher

1.2 Recommended system

• Intel or AMD x86 CPU with 2.0 GHz or faster, at least 4,096MB of RAM
• Internet Explorer 11
• Screen resolution 1,024x768 or higher with a color depth of 32 bits or higher

2.1 Windows 10 (32/64-Bit)
SiteKiosk versions 9.0 or higher also support the Windows 10 operating system. We recommend that you update Windows 10 on a regular basis to keep it up to date.

2.2 Windows 11 (64-Bit)
SiteKiosk versions 9.9 or higher also support the Windows 11 operating system. We recommend that you update Windows 11 on a regular basis to keep it up to date.

3.1 Windows 95 (can no longer be used with current versions)
We have not been supporting Windows95 since Sitekiosk version 5.0. However, you can still download Version 4.97 from our website under Version History. You may also require the Winsock update.

3.2 Windows NT 4.0 (can no longer be used with current versions)
Starting with version 6, SiteKiosk no longer officially supports Windows NT. We cannot recommend this system without reservations as you may not be able to use all the devices you want to as this operating system does not support the USB standard. In addition, you will not be able to use the "System Security Wizard" (available in versions 5.5 or higher) with this operating system. 

You can use Version 5.5 as an alternative.

3.4 Windows 98/SE (can no longer be used with current versions)
We stopped supporting Windows 98 officially with SiteKiosk version 6.5. An alternative version you can use is Version 6.2.
Limitations when running Windows 98:

1. The "System Security Wizard" (versions 5.5 or higher) cannot be used on this operating system.
2. The remote maintenance tool SiteRemote cannot be used in combination with Win98/ME clients

3.5 Windows ME (can no longer be used with current versions)
We stopped supporting Windows ME officially with SiteKiosk version 6.5. An alternative version you can use is Version 6.2. 
Limitations when running Windows ME:

1. The "System Security Wizard" (versions 5.5 or higher) cannot be used on this operating system.
2. The remote maintenance tool SiteRemote cannot be used in combination with Win98/ME clients.

3.6 Windows 2000 (can no longer be used with current versions)
SiteKiosk Version 6.6 or lower will run without a hitch on Windows 2000. As far as stability goes, Win2K is still a system that we can recommend.

3.7 Windows Embedded PoS 1.1 (can no longer be used with current versions)
SiteKiosk Version 7.1 or lower will run without a hitch on Windows Embedded PoS 1.1.

3.8 Windows XP (32-Bit) and Windows Embedded POSReady 2009 (can no longer be used with current versions)
SiteKiosk Version 8.8 or lower will run on Windows XP and Windows Embedded POSReady 2009.

3.9 Windows Vista (32/64-Bit) (can no longer be used with current versions)
SiteKiosk versions 6.6 to 8.91 support the 32-Bit Windows Vista operating system. SiteKiosk versions 7.1 to 8.91 also support 64-Bit.

3.10 Windows 7 (32/64-Bit)
SiteKiosk versions 7.1 to 9.7 also support the Windows 7 operating system.

3.11 Windows 8 (32/64-Bit)
SiteKiosk versions 8.5 to 9.9.6191 also support the Windows 8 operating system. We recommend that you update Windows 8 on a regular basis to keep it up to date.

Note: Windows (8) RT (for ARM-based tablets) is not supported.

3.12 Windows Embedded POSReady 7, Windows Embedded Standard 7 with Application Compatibility Template and Windows Embedded 8 Industry
SiteKiosk up to 9.9.6191 can also be run on the Windows Embedded POSReady 7 variety which is based on Windows 7 and Windows Embedded 8 Industry.
SiteKiosk will also run on Windows Embedded Standard 7 with Application Compatibility Template.
