Support Request: Closing browser does not clear cached login credentials for Sharepoint site

Description

Using browser (IE or Chrome) to login to Sharepoint site.

If I choose the "logout" button in the browser, the logged in user info is cleared without a problem. The next time the Sharepoint site is accessed, it prompts for password as it should.

If I choose to close the browser window (choose X in upper right corner), the next launch of the browser does not prompt for credentials and the previous user is automatically logged into the Sharepoint site again. It should be challenged for credentials.

Is there a way to "reset" the browser on application close as it does when you choose the logout button in the browser?

When using the IE based browser in SiteKiosk you have the option "Logout after the last browser window was closed" in the SiteKiosk configuration tool under >Basic >Start Page & Browser >Advanced. This will perform a logout function when closing the last new open browser window. Please note that when activating this option if you use a browser as the start page then that will also be logged out. SiteKiosk clears temporary Internet files, cookies and certificates (based on the logout settings) on logout and screen saver activation by default

Great... That seems to work. The only exception is that the "X" button in the toolbar of the browser does not seem to do the same. It does close the browser, but it does not "reset" the browser. Is this button able to do the same or can it be removed/hidden as well?

It's not necessary for me since the "X" on the browser window does the same thing.

Thanks again for the guidance.
